Adam Daum is a highly experienced analyst and a major contributor to Canalys’ Mobile App Store Analysis service. Prior to joining Canalys in 2010, Adam worked for 11 years at Gartner, where he was a Research Vice President in the Media Industry team. There, he helped traditional media companies, such as TV broadcasters and newspaper publishers, transform their business strategies to navigate the transition to digital services. This involved evaluating both the threats and opportunities created by disruptive technologies, new entrants and emerging business models. His specific areas of specialization included mobile media, social media, digital TV and trends in consumer behavior. Adam has earned a strong reputation for being customer-focused, understanding each client’s needs and delivering highly-valued custom presentations.
Previously, Adam spent nine years as a Senior Analyst at INTECO, where he was responsible for developing a range of services around new media and consumer technology adoption for technology vendors and telecom service providers. He designed and ran a series of innovative, large-scale consumer surveys in the United States and Europe. These provided advice and forecasts in the areas of entertainment, e-commerce, communications and consumer electronics, covering devices, content and services.
Adam graduated with a First-Class Degree in Philosophy from the University of Bristol and gained a Master’s Degree in Logic, Methodology and the Philosophy of Science from Sussex University.
