Rachel Lashford leads Canalys’ global mobile department, responsible for delivering a comprehensive portfolio of mobility-focused advisory services, including the company’s world-leading Smart Phone Analysis services, for which she has been an integral research and market data team member since its inception 10 years ago. She also oversees the company’s global Mobile App Store Analysis and Mobile Security Analysis services.
In addition to her mobility leadership, Rachel heads the Canalys APAC business, having been based in Singapore since the company’s office was established in 2006. In this capacity, she is responsible for all customer relationships, analysis, consulting and research throughout the region.
Since joining Canalys in 2000, she has presented on mobile trends at various industry events and Canalys forums, as well as advised clients around the world, including involvement in numerous consulting projects. Recent projects conducted on behalf of major technology vendors have provided competitive analysis and advice on: smart phone market entry in emerging markets; consumer application usage in APAC countries; application and tariff trends; mobile phone vendor channel strategies; and engagement with operators.
Rachel graduated from Warwick University with an Honors Degree in Philosophy.
