Tong-Yen Lau

Tong-Yen (TY) Lau joined Canalys in September 2006. Based at the Canalys office in Singapore, her primary responsibilities are to conduct research and provide support across the company’s worldwide portfolio of mobility-focused vendor advisory services, with particular emphasis on tracking the smart mobile device market in the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to joining Canalys, TY spent five years with IDC and was involved in various research topic areas, including networking, peripherals and small and medium business markets. Her work included shipment tracking services and contributing to consulting projects for major technology players.

TY received her Masters with Distinction in Internet Technology from the University of Wollongong, Australia. She also holds a Bachelor of Business degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and local Chinese dialects.
