Account Manager - EMEA

The successful applicant will support a Senior Account Manager to achieve a joint target in developing new name business and managing existing accounts. Initially, the focus for this role would be towards new business, researching accounts, making contact and opening-up opportunities. Some existing accounts will be inherited after a probationary period and the focus will be to ensure satisfaction with the services provided and deal with the renewal of contracts


The role would suit a graduate with work experience seeking their second job, who has built early success in a sales role and now wants to move up a level to a more sophisticated international sales environment. Bright, articulate and personable, with a real desire to get on in the IT world, you will take your experience to the next level in dealing with senior executives from major IT companies.

For somebody with a "can-do" attitude and a high degree of confidence this represents an excellent opportunity to forge lasting impressions with important industry players.

Occasional international travel will be required.


Key responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed quarterly sales goals and targets to achieve annual quota through selling Canalys research, consulting services, and event sponsorship.  

  • Identify and exploit business opportunities in “new-name” accounts.

  • Support involvement in joint global sales opportunities.

  • Decide on appropriate usage, and manage the involvement of Canalys analysts within accounts, both in supporting existing business and in developing new opportunities.

  • Provide regular reports of activity and monthly business forecasts to the Senior VP Business Developments.

Skills required

  •       Atleast 2 years proven sales success in high technology (services, software or hardware). Experience in another sector will be considered if there is a good degree of knowledge of the IT industry.

  •       Graduate-level education.

  •       Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  •       Fluency also in another language would be an advantage but not essential.
