Tim Coulling leads research and analysis into the client PC market, including desktops, netbooks, notebooks and tablets. He focuses on the uptake of tablets by consumers and enterprises and their effect on other client PC sales. He is responsible for coordinating the quarterly market estimation and forecast processes for client PCs on a worldwide basis. He regularly writes analytical reports on a wide range of topics, such as device launches, and vendor and chipset strategies. He also contributes to confidential consultancy projects and channel surveys, and provides clients with expert advice and analysis regarding market trends. Previously, Tim supported the company’s Smart Phone Analysis portfolio of services, which involved tracking new product launches and price changes, as well as the quarterly tracking of device shipments.
Prior to joining Canalys in 2008, Tim worked for an independent reseller and software developer across a range of business functions, including sales, support and operational roles. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Business and Management from Oxford Brookes University.
